Alice grows more than nine-feet tall and her head strikes the roof of the hall. She reaches down for the small golden key on the table and goes over to the little door and opens it, but she can barely maneuver herself to see through the small door. She begins to cry again. Even though she admonishes herself to stop, Alice keeps crying. She weeps gallons of tears that fall to the ground and create a puddle of water four inches deep. She hopes to find the location written down somewhere instead, indicating that Alice puts her faith in the written label or what an object or place is called rather than in her own instincts.
