But who profits, and at what cost to whom?

Finally, saturated fat was the first foodstuff to be strongly linked (albeit somewhat erroneously) with high blood cholesterol (LDL) and heart disease back in the early 1950s by the American scientist, Dr Ancel Keys, whose ideas were first taken up by the American Heart Association in the 1970s and then largely adopted worldwide.
